ya know i get the fact that there not human but most mammalian species due tend to have similar attributes with females and males for example females widened hips small shoulders and less muscle mass while males tend to have broad shoulders small hips and more muscle mass (not complaining just pointing out some facts) oh by the way you should have made it so the males of the species look more like human women just to fuck with peoples minds
WOW, am I ever sick of seeing these comments. Look at other vertebrate species such as angler fish or spotted hyenas, the latter being mammals. Are Exodrakes really much of a stretch from them? (I actually based their sexual dimorphism off of spotted hyenas, just more extreme). Consider the REASON why human females have wider hips. It's because they are physically smaller than males, but have to give birth to a rather large baby somehow. The female Exodrakes are so much larger than the males, they don't need wider hip bones because the whelpling they give birth to is small enough to pass through anyway (ergo, giving birth for them is a HELL of a lot easier than it is for humans. That's why they don't have "curvy" hips. They do have a larger hole in their pelvis, though; an evolutionary remnant from a time when their sexual dimorphism was less extreme.
And...why the fuck would I even do that. I absolutely hate aliens that look like human women because they are so unrealistic. The males ARE already more like human females in a sense, since they are physically smaller than the females, their main sex hormone is estrogen, they are homogametic (having XX chromosomes, not ZZ chromosomes like in birds; the females have the Y chromosome. In Hrothgarian dragon species, the larger sex is always the heterogametic sex, and that sex can either be male or female depending on the species. Usually, the female is the larger sex, the exceptions being draconic marsupials, because the females do not need a large body to carry nearly fetal offspring. And yes, they have pouches), and they have functioning, lactating mammary glands in their dils (the tentacle-like sense organs on their head which are covered in protofeathers and create the illusion of hair). Females have no mammary glands at all.
Also, they aren't even mammals. They're dragons. Their class is Draco, not Mammalia. They have definitive features of birds, mammals, serpents, and even insects, and all members of the class Draco breathe fire via chemical reactions in specialized salivary glands that have evolved into fire-producing organs. The only reasons they aren't classified as Aves is because they give birth to live young (placental viviparity, and a far more advanced and specialized form than what mammals on Earth practice) and are hexapods. They also have hollow, venomous fangs that fold down in their mouths when they are closed (the reason why their very long fangs don't protrude through their lips), a forked tongue, and a Jacobson's organ, like a snake. The Jacobson's organ compensates for the olfaction ability lost when they evolved flatter faces to improve their vision and make their jaws more efficient, thus also allowing their braincases to expand further. Humans have flat, round skulls for a reason, and the same reason they do. Yes, their jaws are weak for dragons, but they are strong enough to pierce relatively tough skin with their fangs to inject venom. Oh yeah, the males' venom is more deadly and concentrated than the females', and both sexes are immune to both venom types.
So yeah. Wall of text aside, it helps to do research on these things before trying to preach about them
calm your nipples Girl i was int trying to be preachy and stuff i just wanted to point out a few things also alines that look like human women are unrealistic but giant four armed bird lizard creatures aren't also i think the main reason people bring it up is because they have no visible genitalia but all things aside i am sorry i did-int mean to upset you
How are hexapodal aliens unrealistic? I find it a lot more absurd to expect the exact same sex characteristics as humans in an alien. They're arboreal, which is why their genitals are internal (they do a lot of climbing, think about it), they have extra arms, and a tail. When they are climbing through trees, the midlimbs and tail allow them to dart through the branches very quickly. They can even hang from branches and keep their main arms free. The dewclaws are used to anchor their limbs to tree limbs too thick for their hands to fit around. The tail spikes in the females are used as another anchor, since they are so heavy they have to fight harder against gravity to stay in the trees. The horns, nasal scutes, and extra dils on the mandible in the females are secondary sex characteristics that are attractive to the males. Everything has a function. There's nothing "unrealistic" about it. They weren't designed to look good; they were designed to be practical in their element. They are the perfect tree-climbers. Why should arboreal aliens evolve in a way that caters to human beauty standards?
well you cant blame people for questioning their gender if there is no indication that they are male or female yes there is a size difference but they could simply be dwarfed and also i do see where your coming from but if you were to walk up to a daemonette would you think it was female most likely yes but pull back the lion cloth and bam male genitalia (here is a link to what a daemonette is [link])
look im sorry upset you but you have to look at things from both points of view i didint know what kind of environment they lived in or how they reproduced again there is know visible place to you know and wouldn't living up so high make them shorter
That would be the case if their atmosphere weren't so rich in oxygen and carbon dioxide. It allows gigantism in both plants and animals. Their trees are huge compared to ours.
On Earth, they suffer from "Earth lag", which is sluggishness due to our less oxygen-rich atmosphere that lasts for roughly a week. They have symbiotic organisms in their blood that can synthesize oxygen, but only in the presence of nitrogen. The females must wear oxygen masks until that system can kick in or they risk nitrogen poisoning. Hrothgar has very little nitrogen in its atmosphere, and what little bit they do breathe in gets converted to oxygen by symbiotic creatures. Thus, in our atmosphere, those creatures can propagate in their bodies and produce more oxygen, thus restoring their energy.
